Job brief

We are looking for a QAQC Coordinator who will be responsible for providing professional QAQC functional support, including developing, implementation and maintaining systems, processes and providing a world class Quality Management Service for the full spectrum of the department’s business lines. The QAQC Coordinator will also responsible for implementation and audit of quality procedures related to the projects; establish, follow up and constantly control the quality management system; and organize and coordinate the quality surveillance.

 Responsibilities

  • Establishing and maintaining the Quality Management System, Quality Plans, Forms and processes.
  • Promoting Quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization.
  • To co-ordinate between the different QC disciplines, structural, piping, mechanical and E&I.
  • Ensuring Compliance with National and International standards and legislation
  • Setting Quality Compliance objectives and ensuring targets are achieved.
  • Defining Quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff.
  • Identifying relevant Quality related training needs.
  • Develop and execute project quality plans in accordance with the requirements of the contracts
  • Responsible for Quality input to subcontractor project and quality plans
  • Deliver audit and assessment programme, justifying process improvements, identifying any deviations from standards and procedures and recommending the appropriate actions.
  • Supervise and conduct capability assessment of vendors/subcontractors.
  • Supporting the Project Management in the provision and development of the project documentation that complies with project systems such as Quality Plans & reports, Project specific Instruction for project processes, establish, agree and communicate quality objectives, Implement corrective measures, as an output of a process/system failure to prevent recurrence, Ensure Lessons learned are recorded in appropriate databases and communicated to all concerned.
  • Carry out audits at both project and country level verifying the company’s adherence to the Company Management System (CMS).
  • Carry out annual trend analysis of audit findings and utilizing the findings and communicating to all concerned parties with the corrective action plans.
  • Recruit suitably qualified personnel for the department which satisfy the needs of both the project and the client.
  • Attend all necessary meetings as required, at project, country and regional level.
  • Participate actively in the continued development and improvement of the QMS
  • Coordinate and follow up with Auditors to establish if corrective and preventive actions are being implemented and maintained.
  • Ensure that all unresolved issues are followed up with the appropriate parties and where necessary elevated to regional level.
  • Act as the facilitator in relation to providing copies of international standards to projects personnel.
  • When requested carry out Audits of subcontractors and material/equipment vendors.
  • Carry out employee evaluations at the time of contract renewal and propose revisions to their contract for renewal.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a University 2nd Class Honours degree in an engineering or relevant technical discipline.
  • Membership of a relevant Professional Institution preferred but not essential.
  • Auditor/Lead Auditor certificate.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with the oil and gas & Engineering Marketplace is advantageous.
  • Quality Management professional qualifications with minimum 5 years leading an organizations Quality Management function
  • Previous experience of working in Nigeria is preferred but not essential.
  • Previous experience working internationally is a prerequisite.
  • Managed multidiscipline teams of diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Computer literate (including sound working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project).
  • Be cognizant and knowledgeable of quality standards and models
  • Be strategic, methodical, logical and detail oriented
  • Be an excellent communicator
  • Be multitalented and able to perform different roles
  • Have good supervisory, management and networking capabilities
  • Have proficient interpretation skills for figures, statistics, regulations and policies
  • Be able to investigate, document, and maintain records accurately
  • Be extremely professional, customer friendly and amenable
